Dr. Kelly J. Blodgett

As the first dentist to introduce numerous technologies to the Portland market, Dr. Kelly J. Blodgett has become a recognized leader in Minimally-Invasive Dentistry, Dental Lasers and digital integration in dental practice.   Incorporated into their new, state-of-the-art clinical facility is a learning center where Dr. Blodgett teaches other dentists about the benefits that dental technologies.

Dr. Blodgett strives to provide an unsurpassed level of service, value and quality. It is his passion to provide the highest level of minimally-invasive care in dentistry.  Dr. Blodgett is great with people, committed to high ethical standards, communicates well, and provides unselfish service.

Dr. Blodgett is a native Oregonian who attended grade school through high school in Southwest Portland.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon and completed his pre-doctoral sciences at Portland State University.   Dr. Blodgett attended the OHSU School of Dentistry and graduated in June of 1999.

As a General Practice Resident at the Portland VA Medical Center Dr. Blodgett performed varied periodontal surgeries, surgical extractions and endodontic treatments that helped develop skills to encompass all aspects of adult and children’s dentistry.  He has maintained a high level of passion for seeing the standard of care in dentistry improve throughout his career.  In 2006 at the young age of 35 Dr. Blodgett was honored with the prestigious “Clinician of the Year Award” from the World Congress of Minimally-Invasive Dentistry.  He has been featured in numerous dental journals, on television and in magazines for the innovative care he provides.  He is truly a modern pioneer in progressive dental care. 

Dr. Blodgett and his wife, Julie, have been married since 1994 and have two beautiful daughters:  Sara, born in 2002 and Megan, born in 2005.  They reside in Southwest Portland, just up the hill from his high school alma mater, Wilson High School.

Tami Brandsasse

Tami has been part of the Blodgett Dental Care team for over five years.  What Tami enjoys most as a member of the BDC team are the personal relationships with the patients.  She loves being a part of this pioneering practice and Dr. Blodgett’s unique approach to dental care.

Tami grew up in California, after which she spent many years traveling with the military.  Her travels eventually lead her to call Portland her official, permanent home.  Tami has an eighteen-year-old son and spends most of her free time with family and friends.  Tami likes to travel, bike and cook.  Her continual goal is personal growth.

Karen McCormack

Karen has been a dental assistant for close to 20 years and has worked with Dr. Blodgett since he started his practice.  She values the unique opportunity that being a member of the Blodgett Dental Care team has given her.  She enjoys learning the latest technologies and developing her skills as a dental assistant.  Karen’s calm demeanor and positive attitude are always appreciated by the patients at BDC.

Karen is a native of North Portland having graduated from Jefferson High School.  She has been married for 30 years and has two wonderful sons, both of whom are graduates of Oregon State University.  Her older son is married and just recently had their first child making Karen the youngest looking grandmother in Portland!

Karen is highly values spending time with her family and her two dogs.  She is also passionate about cooking, line dancing and cross-stitching.

Barbara Hansen

Barb has been in the dental field for 15 years with her initial experience being in Orthodontics.  She is excited to be part of such a progressive and upbeat team.  Barb is passionate about helping people meet their oral health goals.  She genuinely enjoys helping them feel better about their smile in a comfortable and positive environment.

Barb has been married for 11 years.  In 2008 she and her husband welcomed her first children (twin boys!) into their family.

Jill West

Jill joined the Blodgett Dental Care team as the Patient Relations Specialist in September 2007.  Her overwhelmingly positive attitude and bubbly personality are truly appreciated by all the patients at BDC.

With several years in the dental field, Jill brings a wealth of experience to the most technologically advanced dental practice in Portland.  Jill’s goals are to provide an exceptional level of service and knowledge to each and every patient.

Jill is a native Oregonian, born and raised on the Oregon Coast.  She has been in the Portland area for more than six years and loves the “city life”!

Jill has two wonderful children; Joel, 22 and Alexa, 20.  She will also be getting married in early September 2009.  She and her fiance reside in inner SE Portland and are currently in the process of renovating and older home.  Jill also enjoys gardening, cycling, and cooking when time allows!
