What Qualifies a Dentist to Call Themselves “Biological”?
As I approach my 10th anniversary of being a member of both the IABDM (International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine) and the IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology), I have witnessed an ever-increasing number of dentists referring to themselves as “Biological” and/or “Holistic.” It is a fantastic sign that dentists are becoming aware of concepts such as biologically compatible procedures and materials. However, I continue to see New Patients in my practice who went to other “biological” practices where the only thing biological about their approach was using the term “biological” in their Google SEO spend.
To help people seeking a genuinely biological dentist, I decided to share my path over the past 10 years to bolster my understanding of holistic human health and the best biological dental practices.
My steps to becoming a world leader in Biological Dentistry and Holistic Oral Health:
– Reading dozens of books, including “Whole Body Dentistry” by Dr. Mark Breiner, “The Dental Diet” by @drstevenlin, “Hidden Epidemic” by @drthomaslevy, “It’s All in Your Mouth: Biological Dentistry and the Surprising Impact of Oral Health on Whole Body Wellness” by @drdome1, and many more.
– Becoming a member of @theiabdm, @iaomt, the Holistic Dental Association, and the American College of Integrative Medicine and Dentistry.
– Becoming Oregon’s first (and still the only) Certified Biological Dentist by the IABDM
– Becoming Oregon’s first dentist to be board-certified in Integrative Biological Dental Medicine and Naturopathic Medical Dentistry.
– I’m current taking the “BioDentistry 3.0” course created by the amazing @drdome1.
– I completed a 30-hour course on “Exosomes” and other bioregenerative techniques through @prfedu.
It is my nature to continue learning so that I may better serve those who seek my help. If you are seeking a biological and holistic approach to your health, come to the most qualified person from the start.
